Welcome from the PFA

The Parents and Friends Association welcomes all CGGS families and students back to school after a relaxing summer break. It is wonderful to see the girls on campus again and hear their excitement and laughter in the school grounds.

We welcomed many new families to the school at the Year 7 and Junior School Parent Morning Teas, hosted by the Parents and Friends Association. We were blessed with fine weather for the Year 7 parents and held a lovely morning tea on the senior school oval. The Junior School new parents enjoyed refreshments in the hall, overlooking the beautiful Junior School grounds. Both Welcome Events were a wonderful opportunity for new parents to meet to others from their daughter’s year level and start to form new relationships within the CGGS Community.

The PFA hopes to be able to deliver many events they have scheduled in 2021 and looks forward to seeing all members of the community throughout the year.

All PFA events, activities and meetings will be publicised on the school website and in the Junior and Senior School Weeklies.

PFA fund Junior School Playground

The Parents and Friends Association was proud to fund a new climbing frame in the Junior School grounds, to complement the existing playground equipment for the students.

Keeping children active is very important for young bodies and minds, and the PFA is pleased that this new piece of equipment will provide additional fun and challenges for the girls.

We look forward to watching the girls play and shriek with laughter as they navigate their way around the playground.

A Century of Stories
CGGS Centenary Book

In Camberwell Girls Grammar Schools 100-year history, so much has happened within the walls of our beloved school to make it the institution it is today. So we decided to go and discover some of those stories and share them with our community in commemorative book to celebrate our centenary year. We are so proud to bring you this collection of stories, of moments in time, the highlights of our history and interesting insights.

A Century of Stories, has been written and published by Hyphen (formally known as Bounce Books), a company which specialises in telling stories, creating anniversary books and helping organisations to celebrate milestones. They have recently published similar story books to CGGS’ for Qantas, Arnott’s, Coles and Akubra.

A Century of Stories is scheduled to be printed in early 2021 and we would like to offer the CGGS community a chance to pre-order the book to be one of the first people to receive it.

If you place your order before Monday 15 February 2021, not only you will get the book as soon as we receive it, but you will also benefit from a special pre-sale price of $50, including GST.

You have the option of picking up the book from CGGS Main Reception or having it delivered at a standard shipping fee of $15.
