Indigenous Scholarships

Applications are open all year round by direct application to the Head of Admissions.

Camberwell Girls is a Christian school in the Anglican tradition valuing diversity and inclusiveness.

We are committed to learning about indigenous people and culture as we recognise them as the traditional custodians of the land. We demonstrate respect through our relationships with indigenous people including elders and students and families, by Acknowledging Country at key events, celebrating culture during significant weeks such as Reconciliation Week, create displays in the school and fly the Aboriginal flag with the Australian Flag at the front of our school.

We are proud to work closely with Murrundindi, ngurungaeta of the Wurundjeri people, participate in sporting and cultural events a Worawa Aboriginal College in Healesville and partner with the Melbourne Indigenous Transition School in Richmond to enable indigenous students to attend Camberwell Girls.

Learning about indigenous culture is a major focus of our Year 8 Service Learning program and in recent years we have participated in the Mungo Youth Project and are developing a Living Culture Immersion Program with Indigenous elders at Mungo and the Rick Farley Reserve.
